What is Alpha-Lipoic Acid?

Alpha-lipoic acid is made by the body and is also found in small amounts in some natural foods such as yeast, liver, kidney, spinach, broccoli, and potatoes. It is used naturally by the body to break down carbohydrates and to make energy for the other organs in the body.

Alpha-lipoic acid has been the subject of numerous research studies and clinical trials

Alpha-lipoic acid is known to be a potent anti-oxidant and energizer. It neutralizes harmful free radicals in both the fatty and watery regions of the cells – in contrast to vitamin C, which is water soluble, and vitamin E, which is fat soluble.

It is often referred to as an ideal anti-oxidant, and is believed to protect against ageing, diabetes and strokes, and to improve memory since it seems to provide protection to the brain under conditions of damage or injury.  It is thought to help increase physical performance before a workout by hastening the removal of glucose from the blood and transferring it into muscle at a faster rate.  Studies show that it also assists with weight loss.

Alpha-lipoic acid helps the body to remove toxins, and supports the immune system. It is therefore a natural complement to use with Zeolite.
